SeniorNet was created in 1986 with the vision of connecting seniors to computer technology, offering them education and tools to enhance their lives and enable them to share their knowledge and wisdom. Here we are in 2020, continuing this mission with the same foundation and core principles, while adding new accessibility into research and technology creation.
Technology has grown beyond just the computer, and is now woven in to every aspect of our lives. From smart phones, to self-driving cars, automatic vacuums and voice enabled personal assistants, technology is everywhere. SeniorNet will be THE spot to learn about, discuss, research and collaborate with experts on the newest technologies for seniors.
Membership to SeniorNet is now free, and will give seniors access to forums, educational material, access to webinars and online sessions, along with the ability to participate in research and focus groups. The goal is to reach all seniors regardless of income, technical background, location or ability. The virtual learning center will be online 24/7, and can be accessible via laptop, computer, tablet or smart phone.
Organizations can get access to curriculum for larger groups, conduct focus groups with seniors around the world, and share our mission of connection seniors to technology. Technology partners are welcome to discuss their latest products, do demos, offer discounts and receive feedback directly for seniors themselves.
And this is just the beginning. As the world battles some difficult times, we hope SeniorNet can offer a place for seniors to learn, communicate and thrive together online while bridging the gap between organizations, technology companies, and the seniors who use their products. Come join the journey as we embark on a new adventure, keeping true to our roots and harnessing the power of technology to bring access to all.
