"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
- Mahatma Gandhi

Earlier this year, Center Leaders were asked to submit the names of the volunteers that have the longest amount of service in their center. Some have been with us for more than 25 years.

One of the most common things we hear about the volunteer experience is that they get so much more out of their work than they give. We also know that volunteering helps:
  • Build new friendships

  • Promote socialization

  • Develop confidence

  • Combat and reduce depression

  • Develop new skills

  • Keep folks physically and mentally fit

  • Increase joy, happiness, life fulfillment

We have asked our dedicated, loyal volunteers to share their personal stories so that we can post them on our SeniorNet website.

Stay tuned for their stories about volunteering with SeniorNet - the changes in technology, the approach to teaching, and their experiences.
