Unleashing the Power of Learning

November 2019

New Curriculum:

SeniorNet recently released the second of a series of three workshops on Apple’s iPhone Camera.

The First: iPhone Camera

When we decide to take a picture most of us just pick up our iPhone, point, and snap a picture. The results can vary, yet we accept the photo as is. In this SeniorNet workshop, you’ll learn how to use the built-in Camera app to take incredible photos and discover some hidden camera features that you never knew were there!

You’ll learn how to:

·     Quickly open the iPhone Camera app.

·     Choose the right picture mode.

·     Use Portrait Mode for studio like photos.

·     Set the focus for pin-sharp images.

·     Adjust exposure for perfect brightness.

·     Use Burst Mode for amazing action shots.

·     Bring your images to life with Live Photos.

·     Capture the entire scene shooting Panoramas.

The Second: iPhoto Photo App, Editing and Sharing

Editing digital photos used to mean buying expensive editing programs such as Photoshop, and learning complex features. These days, iPhone owners have powerful photo-editing tools built right into their phones. If you want to get serious about taking great images and making them better, then our SeniorNet workshop will show you how to turn your ordinary photos into stunning photos.

You’ll Learn how to:

·      Ensure your iPhone is updated to iOS 13.

·      Open the iPhone photo editor in the photos app.

·      Duplicate your photo to preserve the original.

·      Adjust color, brightness & sharpness.

·      Use a filter to adjust color tone.

·      Crop, rotate, straighten & adjust perspective.

·      Save your edited photo.

·      Remove or change your edits.

·      Edit portrait mode photos.

·      Edit live photos.

·      Markup and Share your photos.

The Third: Apple iCloud (Available January 2020)

Apple iCloud is built into every Apple device and is also available for your Windows 10 PC. That means all your photos, videos, files, and more, are safe, up to date, and available wherever you are on any device. It works automatically, so all you have to do is keep doing what you love!

The best thing about iCloud is that once you create your account and set up iCloud Drive, it can never be deleted. You can break your access to the connection, but at any time in the future, you will be able to access it again. In this SeniorNet workshop we explore all the features of iCloud on all your iOS devices plus iCloud for Windows 10 PC.
