Greenwich, CT Congressional Follow-up
Below is an excellent example of the Greenwich, CT SeniorNet Learning Center Leadership and Follow-Up to encourage their Congressman's attendence at the SeniorNet 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill, May 19th.
I very much enjoyed meeting you at Dick and Jean Bergstresser's some time ago. I hope that you will be able to join us for this important celebration of SeniorNet’s 25th Anniversary, to be held at Room 106 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building from 5 to 8 on May 19. Our Anniversary celebration is being sponsored by Senator Kohl and one of our key note speakers is Assistant Secretary of Aging Greenlee.
SeniorNet has 60 chapters in the US, with 5 in Connecticut, in Danbury, Enfield, Redding, and Torrington, as well as Greenwich. Other US centers are located in a very wide range of communities, including several at Indian Reservations and in inner cities.
I have led the Greenwich chapter of SeniorNet for 13 years. Our chapter was chosen as one of three Chairman’s Award winners for 2010, so Anne and I will be attending this celebration, which will be web cast to all 60 SeniorNet chapters in the US.
SeniorNet is an excellent example of volunteer community service. During 2010, 36 volunteers at our Greenwich chapter offered 50 computer courses on 14 subjects to 268 students.
